Forgiveness: the Currency of the Church

The doctrines of forgiveness and reconciliation are so crucial to the church's understanding of grace that if one neglects to put them into practice, the Scriptures teach they have not understood the grace of Christ. We find in the book of Philemon not only a robust, living example of these doctrines between a slave and his master, but that the root of these doctrines is found in the bonds of the love Christians now share as a result of God's grace in salvation.
