The Apostate and the Oracles of Woe

Jude gives us an extensive look at the nature and qualities of the apostate, all to demonstrate why their condemnation is just. He alludes to two often neglected books of the Old Testament to draw out several illustrations - yet this ultimately serves as an example to the church. Jude's purpose in using these examples is to show the natural use of the genuine Christian, which is to live with ultimate reference to God.
