The God Who Remembers

The book of Obadiah brings to light a prophecy of judgment concerning Edom. One key theme arises in the whole of the book: God remembers. God remembers the wickedness of Edom in their violence toward Jacob, yet God also remembers His covenant promises to Israel. As we look to the book today, the same truth rings through: God remembers. The same God that remembered Edom will remember the wicked who reject Christ today; the same God that remembered His covenant promises to Israel will remember His promises to His children today. Depending on where we stand before God - that is either a joyous truth or a terrifying statement.
